Late Mansaray Strike Seals Narrow Victory for Bai Bureh Warriors Over Port Authority FC

Mohamed S. Mansaray scored a late winner in the 88th minute to hand Bai Bureh Warriors a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Port Authority FC on Wednesday, June 17, at the Port Loko Mini Stadium.

Both teams entered the encounter with strong intent, aware of the importance of maximum points as the league season approaches its decisive stage.

Port Authority FC started brightly, showing defensive discipline and organization that effectively contained the attacking threats of the home side. Their resilience frustrated Bai Bureh Warriors and limited clear scoring opportunities in the opening stages.

The first half remained tightly contested, with both sides creating chances, but Port Authority goalkeeper Steven N. Momoh delivered an outstanding performance to ensure the match remained goalless at halftime.

After the break, Bai Bureh Warriors increased the pressure, pushing forward in search of a breakthrough as the visitors continued to defend resolutely. However, the deadlock was finally broken in the closing minutes.

In the 88th minute, Sanpha M. Kamara delivered a perfectly timed pass to skipper Mohamed S. Mansaray, who calmly converted to give the Warriors the lead and ultimately secure all three points.

The goal takes Mansaray’s league tally to 12, leaving him just one goal behind the league’s top scorer, Randy M. George.

The victory lifts Bai Bureh Warriors to third place on the table, moving them within one point of Star Sport Academy FC, as the race for the top positions intensifies in the closing stages of the season.
