Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed "Omodu" Kamara, a prominent flagbearer aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC) widely known as Jagaban, has formally confirmed the allocation of Le 1 billion to establish a micro-credit soft loan scheme for women in Kukuna Town.
The announcement took place during an official visit to Kukuna Town on March 22, 2026. Upon arrival, Jagaban was received by Paramount Chief Kandeh Momoh Samba II, who performed the traditional presentation of kola nuts in recognition of the visit.
During the proceedings, P.C. Momoh Samba II outlined several critical infrastructure requirements for the community, including the installation of streetlights, the renovation of local educational and religious facilities, and the reconstruction of the community radio station. Additionally, Madam Mabenty Summah, the APC Chairlady for Constituency 057, advocated for targeted financial resources to bolster women-led enterprises and enhance local livelihoods.
In response, Jagaban clarified that the funding for Kukuna Town is part of a broader Le 10 billion regional development initiative previously announced in the Kambia District. This specific allocation is dedicated to empowering the women of Kukuna through accessible credit facilities.
The engagement saw robust community involvement, underscoring a collective commitment to sustainable development and the economic advancement of women within the region.
