Leone Rock Renews SLPL Sponsorship with NLe 4.1 Million Commitment

Leone Rock Metal Group has committed NLe 4.1 million to sponsor the Sierra Leone Premier League for the fourth consecutive year after signing a sponsorship agreement with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) in Freetown.
The agreement, valued at NLe 4,127,994, was signed at the Bintumani Hotel on Thursday, October 8, 2026, to support the organisation of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
The ceremony brought together representatives of Leone Rock Metal Group and the SLFA, alongside Minister of Sports Augusta James-Teima, Minister of Youth Ibrahim Sannoh, representatives of Premier League clubs and members of the media.
Representing the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor A. Bah, the ministry’s Social Media Adviser, Zacharia Jalloh, described the sponsorship as an example of private-sector support for national development.
Jalloh said the continued partnership demonstrated Leone Rock’s commitment beyond its mining operations, highlighting football’s potential to unite communities and create opportunities for young people.
He also commended the company for its corporate social responsibility initiatives, linking the partnership to the government’s broader focus on youth empowerment and private-sector participation in national development.
Both Leone Rock Metal Group and the SLFA expressed appreciation for the partnership and pledged to work together to improve the standard of the country’s top-flight football competition.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by SLFA First Vice-President Alie Badara Tarawalie and representatives of Leone Rock Metal Group.
The sponsorship is expected to support the effective organisation of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
