Liberation Party Launch Presidential Bid in Pujehun

The leader of the newly formed Liberation People's Party (LPP), Pastor Mohamed Samuel Kamara, conducted an official visit to Pujehun District on September 3, 2026. The engagement aimed to introduce the party to local communities and outline its foundational principles, policies, and political roadmap.
Held at the Kpanga Chiefdom Court Barry in Pujehun Town, the town hall gathered a broad range of stakeholders, including party supporters, local traditional authorities, youth and women leaders, civil society, media representatives, and officers from the Sierra Leone Police.
Addressing the assembly, Pastor Kamara formally declared his ambition to succeed President Julius Maada Bio in the 2028 presidential election. Positioned as an alternative political platform, the LPP leader centered his vision on comprehensive youth empowerment, democratic accountability, good governance, and inclusive national development.
"We are here to provide a clear, constructive alternative for the people of Sierra Leone,"
Kamara stated, urging citizens to carefully evaluate the party's platform and policies before aligning politically. He called on the residents of Pujehun to rally behind the party's grassroots movement.
The visit marked a personal homecoming for Kamara, who highlighted his origins in Bandalahun village, Upper Kayimba Section, within the Kpanga Chiefdom of Pujehun District. He emphasized that building strong regional ties is central to the LPP's strategy of establishing a national presence beyond Sierra Leone's traditional two-party framework.
The event concluded with statements from the LPP leadership promoting peaceful political participation, policy scrutiny, and active civic engagement as Sierra Leone prepares for its upcoming electoral cycles.
