Proceedings in the ongoing incitement matter involving Mohamed Moriba, the Southern Province Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the All People’s Congress (APC), were adjourned on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, following indications by the defense that efforts are underway to resolve the case out of court.
During the hearing before Magistrate John Manso Fornah, defense counsel M.A. Kamara informed the court that his clients are actively engaging the Office of the Attorney-General in discussions aimed at exploring possible settlement options regarding the incitement charges.
Counsel Kamara explained that although he had initially intended to proceed with the cross-examination of the police witness based on earlier testimony, he opted to suspend the process to allow room for the ongoing negotiations.
The magistrate acknowledged the defense’s position and the attempt to pursue an out-of-court resolution, subsequently adjourning the matter to allow for further developments.
However, despite the defense’s submissions, Magistrate Fornah refused to grant bail and ordered that Mohamed Moriba be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to 13 February 2026, when the court is expected to receive updates on the progress of the negotiations.
