Man Faces High Court Trial Over Alleged Murder, Concealed Crime Scene

A murder case involving allegations of a concealed crime scene has been committed to the High Court in Freetown, with prosecutors accusing Richard Tim of attempting to misrepresent the location where Junisa Konneh was allegedly killed.

Tim was committed to the High Court after Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah ruled that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence for him to stand trial.

He faces three charges: conspiracy to murder, murder and perverting the course of justice.

According to the particulars of the charges, the alleged offences took place on 30 July 2026 at Akim Spot, New Site No. 2, on the River Peninsula.

Prosecutors allege that Tim conspired with unidentified persons to murder Konneh.

The third charge alleges that Tim attempted to pervert the course of justice by concealing the circumstances surrounding Konneh’s death and misrepresenting the crime scene as being at Mother Lam in York Village rather than Akim Spot.

These remain allegations and have not been established in court. As the case was before the magistrate for committal proceedings, no plea was taken when the charges were read and explained.

Prosecutor Brima Kargbo presented witnesses in support of the prosecution’s case. Tim was not legally represented during the proceedings.

In committing the case to the High Court, Magistrate Jah said he had considered the prosecution’s evidence and Tim’s statement and was satisfied that sufficient evidence existed to warrant a trial.

The committal does not establish the truth of the allegations, which will be determined during proceedings at the High Court.

Tim was remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown pending further proceedings.
