Mariama Sambu Dominates Golden Boot Standings with Record Lead

The competition for top scoring honors in the Marampa Mines Women’s Premier League has been defined by the exceptional performance of RAM Kamara FC striker Mariama Sambu, who has secured an undisputed lead in the Golden Boot standings. Sambu’s impressive tally of 48 goals represents one of the most dominant individual scoring records in the league’s recent history.

Sambu holds a substantial advantage over her nearest rival, teammate Salamatu J. Kamara, who ranks second with 25 goals. This differential underscores the offensive efficacy and tactical precision of RAM Kamara FC this season.

The remainder of the top five scorers includes Ruth M. Bawoh of Kahunla Queens, placed third with 19 goals, and Marie Bockarie Conteh of Mena Queens, who maintains fourth position with 17 goals.

The standings demonstrate competitive depth among the mid-table contenders: Maseray Turay of Rising Queens and Fatoumata Yaya Samoura of RAM Kamara FC are currently tied with 13 goals. A group of players—Fatmata Turay (Mogbwemo Queens), Abibatu Dollar Bangura (Sierra Leone Police Female FC), and Sarah Turay (Koya Queens)—are all level with 12 goals. Cecilia S. Bangura of Rising Queens completes the top ten rankings with 11 goals.

The current season transcends individual statistics, serving as evidence of the continued development of women’s football within Sierra Leone. Clubs nationwide are demonstrating improvements in organizational structure, disciplinary standards, and attacking proficiency. The heightened competitiveness within the league reflects not only individual excellence but also a significant, widespread transformation in the women’s game.

As the league approaches its final stages, attention will be focused on whether Mariama Sambu can sustain her extraordinary goal-scoring rate or if the pursuing players can successfully challenge the current Golden Boot narrative during this highly competitive conclusion to the campaign.
