Security Guard Granted Bail Over Alleged Theft of Air Conditioners in Freetown

A security guard, Ibrahim Fofanah, has appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 on two counts of conspiracy and larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet, the accused allegedly conspired with unknown persons on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at No. 2 Sesay Court, Hill Station, Freetown, to commit the offence of larceny.
The second count states that on the same date and at the same location, Fofanah allegedly stole five assorted air conditioners valued at Le6,500 each, with a total estimated value of Le32,500.
The court further heard that the items are the property of Alhaji Kemeh Sesay.
When the charges were read and explained, no plea was taken because the matter is currently before the court on a preliminary investigation.
After considering the circumstances, Magistrate Fornah granted the accused bail in the sum of Le40,000 with one surety in like amount.
The court ordered that the surety must be a responsible senior citizen resident in Freetown, possess a fixed address, and present a valid national identity card for verification and approval.
The matter has been adjourned to May 15, 2026, for further hearing.
