Two employees of Maripoma Investment Sierra Leone Limited, Joseph Macfoy (29) and Abdul Rahman Jawara (34), were arraigned before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at the Pademba Road Court No. 1. The defendants face multiple felony charges following a reported theft within the company.
During the initial hearing, the court ordered the remand of the second defendant, Mr. Jawara, while granting conditional bail to the first defendant, Mr. Macfoy.
The indictment includes charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and larceny by servant. The prosecution alleges that on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Hill Station, Freetown, the defendants conspired with unidentified accomplices to misappropriate company property.
Specifically, the defendants are accused of stealing a white Toyota Land Cruiser Hardtop (Registration: AYJ 209). The vehicle, valued at approximately euro 45,969 (SLE 1,185,356), was reportedly in the custody of Dominic Frimpong at the time of the incident.
Both defendants entered pleas of not guilty to all charges presented before the court.
Inspector Mabel M. Trawallie, representing the prosecution, confirmed that copies of the defendants' statements had been successfully served and acknowledged by the defense.
Magistrate Jah set bail for Joseph Macfoy at SLE 1,000,000, requiring a surety of equal value. The surety must be a resident of Sierra Leone with valid identification and subject to jurisdictional approval.
Abdul Rahman Jawara remains in custody pending further proceedings. The court has adjourned the matter until April 23, 2026.
