MBSSE's Final 24-Hour Extension for Outstanding CASS Scores Elapse

The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education's (MBSSE) final 24-hour extension for primary schools to submit outstanding Continuous Assessment and School-Based Scoring (CASS) data has elapsed. Issued on August 13th, the extension was meant to extend to Friday, end of week.

The directive aims to resolve the status of unpublished 2026 National Primary School Examination (NPSE) results. MBSSE reported that administrative delays by school leaders account for 86 percent of the 1,927 withheld results.

Because CASS constitutes 10 percent of each pupil's overall final grade, missing submissions risk unfairly penalizing students and disrupting their transition into secondary school. 

The Ministry emphasized that compliant schools have fulfilled their obligations and stressed that students should not suffer due to institutional negligence.

Additionally, school administration was warned that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) may levy financial penalties for late data entries. 

MBSSE affirmed that no further extensions will be granted, and non-compliant schools face strict administrative consequences following the deadline.
