MBSSE Warns WASSCE Candidates Over Fake Results Release Notice

The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has issued a stern warning to WASSCE candidates, parents, guardians, and education stakeholders regarding a fraudulent document circulating online that purports to announce the release date of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.
In an official press release dated September 13, 2025, the Ministry clarified that the circulating document—bearing a fake date of September 12, 2025, and reference number MBSSE/PR/2025/001—falsely claims WASSCE results will be released on September 25. MBSSE explicitly stated:
“This document is NOT authentic and does NOT originate from the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education.”
The Ministry has urged the general public to completely disregard the fake notice and refrain from sharing or acting upon its contents. Authentic updates regarding the WASSCE results will be released exclusively through verified communication channels, including the official MBSSE website, verified social media handles, official press releases, and announcements directly from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Furthermore, MBSSE encouraged members of the public to report any suspicious or unverified communications to appropriate authorities.
Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the national education system, the Ministry assured stakeholders that genuine updates will be provided through official channels in due course.
