Musa Mansaray, a surveyor at the Ministry of Lands, has been granted bail by Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 after facing charges of obtaining money by false pretenses.
The court heard that Mansaray allegedly collected 85,000 Leones from Alimammy Bangura on multiple dates between November and December 2024 in Murray Town, Freetown, by falsely claiming to have land for sale.
When the charges were read and explained, Mansaray pleaded not guilty. The matter is currently under preliminary investigation.
The prosecution, represented by D.D. Kamara, indicated that the defense had approached them to explore alternative legal strategies. Mansaray’s counsel, M. Bangura, renewed and adopted a previous bail application.
Magistrate Fornah granted bail in the sum of 90,000 Leones with one surety of the same amount. The surety must be a senior, responsible citizen residing in Freetown, gainfully employed, and able to provide valid identification.
The court approved the bail application, and the case has been adjourned to 15th April 2026 for further proceedings.
