Motorbike Rider Killed, Triggering Kailahun Unrest

A registered member of the Sierra Leone Commercial Motorbike Riders Union (SLCMBRU) has just been reported dead in the GBAYAWALU SECTION in Kailahun Town.
According to reports, the rider left his home in DARU town, Jawei chiefdom, Kailahun district, this morning, along with some passengers, to attend a traditional wedding ceremony in Kailahun town. However, upon his arrival in Kailahun Town, he was accused of being a thief and also of being in possession of a harmful substance called "TRAMADOL."
He was allegedly mercilessly beaten to death by some identified youths, reportedly without any proper investigation.
The matter has been reported at the Kailahun police station for further investigation.
Other reports implicate the police in the killing, who are as of now stating no involvement in the death.
Bike riders are on a serious strike, and the police station has been lit by unknown persons believed to be part of an irate mob.
