Veteran Sierra Leonean entertainer Jimmy B is set to return to live performances at the 2026 Civic Festival, where a special concert will celebrate his longstanding contributions to the country’s entertainment industry.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, during a meeting with entertainment industry stakeholders on 2 November 2026. The Minister outlined plans for a special concert dedicated to honouring the veteran entertainer and his musical legacy.

According to Minister Bah, the concert will mark Jimmy B’s return to the stage after an extended absence, with several artistes expected to join him in celebrating his career and influence on Sierra Leonean music.

Participating entertainers will perform some of Jimmy B’s iconic songs alongside him as a tribute to his contributions to the growth of the country’s entertainment industry.

Jimmy B, whose real name is Jimmy Bangura, is widely recognised as one of the influential figures in Sierra Leonean music. Through his musical career and the establishment of Paradise Records, he played a significant role in shaping the country’s post-war music scene and creating opportunities for emerging artistes.

The special concert is scheduled to take place on the final day of the three-day 2026 Civic Festival, which will run from 9 to 11 December.

As part of the celebration, different artistes are expected to perform one or two of Jimmy B’s songs in recognition of his enduring influence and contribution to Sierra Leone’s creative industry.
