Native Consortium Demands Government Reduce Fuel Prices

The Native Consortium has issued a seven-day formal demand to the government, calling for a reduction in domestic fuel prices.

Citing a decline in global oil prices following the cessation of the conflict in Iran, the consortium is requesting that domestic pricing be adjusted to reflect these international market trends.

Edmond Abu, representing the consortium, stated on Epic Radio that the group expects an official response within the one-week timeframe.

Failure to address these concerns may result in the organization initiating nationwide protests.

This development highlights growing public concern regarding the cost of living and the economic pressure on households and the transport sector in Sierra Leone.

However, the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority had stated that petroleum prices are guarded by a strict pricing schemes which calculates several factors prompted by internal and external fluctuations.
