The North-East Region Football Association (NERFA), in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), successfully concluded a two-day professional development seminar on January 15, 2026. The event, held at the Conteh-U Hotel in Makeni, focused on the implementation and utilization of the FIFA Connect Registration and Competitions Management System (CMS).

This initiative represents a pivotal step in the SLFA’s strategic digital transformation agenda, aimed at modernizing football governance and operations nationwide by aligning with global best practices. Attendees included Division One and Two clubs, district football secretaries, competition heads, and administrators from the Bombali, Tonkolili, Koinadugu, and Falaba districts.

NERFA Chairman, Brimah Jalloh, an SLFA Executive Committee Member, underscored the training's importance in operationalizing the SLFA Football Ecosystem, urging participants to adopt the system to enhance efficiency and data integrity. NERFA Secretary General, Sheku Bilo Conteh, stressed the necessity for clubs to take ownership of player registration via the platform, especially in preparation for upcoming SLFA-sanctioned competitions.

The seminar included comprehensive overviews of the SLFA Football Ecosystem and the 2026 FA Cup structure, with a clear mandate from SLFA’s Samuel Davies that all team registrations must be exclusively processed through FIFA Connect. The second day featured hands-on training led by SLFA's Miriam Heroe and Sahr Paul Komba, focusing on player registration, transfers, and system navigation, ensuring regional clubs are fully prepared for digital compliance.
