Njala Gaura Primary School Receives Boost in Teaching and Learning Materials

Mission of Life, with implementation support from the Cotton Tree Foundation Sierra Leone, has donated essential teaching and learning materials to National Primary School in Njala Gaura, Kenema District, to support pupils and teachers and improve classroom activities.

The donation was made on Monday, 19 October 2026, and included exercise books, rulers, pencils, pens, readers, attendance registers and other educational materials to assist pupils in their studies and teachers in their daily responsibilities.

The initiative aims to strengthen the school’s learning environment by improving access to basic educational resources, particularly in communities where schools face challenges in obtaining essential teaching and learning materials.

The materials are expected to help pupils participate more effectively in classroom activities while supporting teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining proper attendance records.

According to Mambu Alpha Sannoh, the support forms part of the Cotton Tree Foundation Sierra Leone’s broader commitment to promoting grassroots development, youth empowerment and equal learning opportunities across the country.

Sannoh emphasised the importance of community-based initiatives in helping children access the basic educational resources they need to pursue their studies in a more supportive environment.

The donation highlights the role of partnerships between development organisations and educational institutions in addressing resource gaps and improving learning conditions in local communities.

Through the intervention, Mission of Life and the Cotton Tree Foundation Sierra Leone have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting primary education and community development, with the provision of essential learning materials intended to contribute to pupils’ academic progress and future opportunities.
