Nollywood Star Uche Jombo Meets Information Minister in Freetown

Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has hosted Nigerian actress, filmmaker and producer Uche Jombo at the Ministry in Freetown for discussions on opportunities within Sierra Leone’s film industry and the wider African creative sector.

Minister Bah disclosed the engagement on Monday, September 14, thanking Jombo for sharing her experience and supporting discussions around the development of Sierra Leone’s film industry.

“Thanks to our sister and Nigerian megastar, Uche Jombo, for lending your star power to the film industry in SierraLeone,” Bah said.

The Minister described the discussions as energising, particularly in relation to the opportunities available within Sierra Leone’s film sector and the potential for collaboration across the region.

He ended his post with the words, “More loading,” suggesting that further developments could emerge from the engagement.

Jombo’s engagements in Sierra Leone have also included a meeting with Chief Minister David Sengeh, where discussions reportedly focused on creating a more conducive environment for filmmakers to shoot productions in the country.

Jombo is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker and producer with experience in acting, screenwriting and film production.

Her engagement with Sierra Leonean officials comes as the country continues efforts to strengthen its creative industries and explore opportunities for collaboration within Africa’s film sector.
