NSA Explores New UK Partnership to Advance Sierra Leone Sports Development

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has held a strategic engagement with the Ultimate Sports Group (USG) in London as part of efforts to explore new partnerships and opportunities aimed at advancing sports development in Sierra Leone.
The meeting, held at Silver Jubilee Park in London, featured a 35-minute presentation by USG Founder and Chief Executive Officer Uthman Odutayo, who outlined the organisation’s history, objectives, achievements, and areas of support across football, basketball, athletics, and other sporting disciplines.
During the presentation, Odutayo highlighted USG’s capacity to provide elite-level support to Sierra Leone’s national men’s and women’s football teams, while offering expertise in technical development, player support, and sports management.
He also outlined scholarship opportunities available in the United Kingdom and the United States for sports administrators, technical personnel, and athletes. The opportunities could create new pathways for Sierra Leonean sporting talent and professionals seeking further education and development.
NSA Executive Director Mohamed Alphaka Conteh welcomed the engagement, describing it as an important opportunity to gain insight into coaching development, player technical and skills development, pre-season tours, educational programmes, and events management.
Conteh reaffirmed his commitment to exploring available opportunities that could contribute to the growth of sports in Sierra Leone, stressing his ambition to leave a lasting legacy in the country’s sporting sector.
The meeting was facilitated by NSA Director of Corporate Operations Alie Sesay, who expressed appreciation to USG for its hospitality and highlighted the potential benefits of the proposed partnership for Sierra Leonean athletes, coaches, and technical teams.
The engagement marks a step towards strengthening international partnerships and creating new opportunities for the development of athletes, coaches, administrators, and sports programmes in Sierra Leone.
