Paramount Chief P.C. Sheku A.K.M. Koroma (Gbujan II) of Futta Pejeh Chiefdom and members of the Koroma family have donated 12 bags of rice and financial assistance to vulnerable pupils of Wanjama Government Secondary School for Girls (WGSSG) in Pujehun District.

The donation, made on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, also includes one year of tuition support for the highest-performing pupil from Pejeh Chiefdom attending the school. It is intended to improve the welfare of vulnerable girls and encourage them to continue their education.

Presenting the items, Paramount Chief Koroma, who chairs the Council of Paramount Chiefs in Pujehun District, reaffirmed the family’s commitment to supporting vulnerable children and promoting education. He said the family had supported pupils, particularly those in the school’s boarding facility, since the institution was established in 2025, and urged the girls to remain disciplined and work hard.

The Acting Principal of WGSSG, Juliana Faiya Kargbo, thanked the family for its continued support, noting that the donation would help meet some of the pupils’ welfare needs. She called on individuals, prominent families and organisations in the district to support the school, saying its pupils had the potential to excel nationally and beyond.

The Board Chairperson, Madam Judith Umu Lahai, also welcomed the contribution, praising the Koroma family for its sustained support since the school’s establishment. She explained that the institution operates as a full boarding school and requires resources for meals and other essential services, appealing for further assistance to sustain the pupils’ welfare and educational activities.

The donation forms part of ongoing efforts by community leaders and stakeholders to support vulnerable pupils and improve girls’ access to education in Pujehun District.
