The Sierra Leone Police have stepped in to prevent a potential clash between pupils of Prince of Wales and Albert Academy Secondary Schools following viral social media posts suggesting planned confrontations.

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Sylvester M.N. Koroma, Regional Commander for Freetown West, led a coordinated visit to both schools to quell rising tensions. He was joined by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) John Fayiah Tumbay, Local Unit Commander of the Central Police Division, and Mr. Simeon Bai Sesay, a representative of the Provincial Security Committee (PROSEC).

The intervention followed a viral video circulating online, which reportedly showed groups of students preparing for physical altercations. In response, AIG Koroma addressed the students directly, warning that any engagement in violence whether on or off school grounds would lead to police investigation and potential prosecution. He urged pupils to resist peer pressure, report threats, and focus on education and personal development.

To reinforce safety, the Regional Commander assured both staff and students of increased police presence around the schools. He stressed the importance of collaboration between school authorities and law enforcement in maintaining a secure learning environment.

During separate meetings with school staff, AIG Koroma advocated for the revival of anti-violence clubs as a preventative measure and strongly condemned the possession of weapons or illegal substances on campus. He warned that any violations would attract strict disciplinary and legal action.

The Sierra Leone Police stated that the operation underscores their commitment to protecting young people, preventing school-related violence, and ensuring safer school communities across the region.
