Police Hand Over Murder Suspect to Liberian Authorities

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Eastern Region has handed over murder suspect Augustine Tamba Lendeh, alias “T-Boy,” to the Liberia National Police following his arrest in Kenema.

Lendeh was arrested on Monday, August 3, 2026, after intelligence reportedly linked him to the alleged murder of his 19-year-old girlfriend, Dearest Paye, a resident of Omega Total Community in Monrovia, Liberia.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred during a domestic dispute, after which Lendeh allegedly crossed into Sierra Leone.

The suspect was handed over to Liberian authorities following collaboration between the Sierra Leone Police and the Liberia National Police in line with established cross-border security procedures, to facilitate further investigations and possible legal action.

During the handover ceremony, Regional Police Commander East, ACP Joe Kamanda Bongay, welcomed the Liberian delegation on behalf of Inspector General of Police Mr. William Fayia Sellu and reaffirmed the SLP’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation in combating transnational crime.

Superintendent Cary G. Karzon, Team Leader of the National Central Bureau (NCB) in Monrovia, thanked the Sierra Leone Police for its swift response, professionalism, and continued collaboration.

He said the successful transfer highlights the strong partnership between the two police institutions in promoting justice and enhancing regional security.
