The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) in Kenema on Sunday, September 28, 2025, responded promptly to a disturbance in Hangha Town following a call for assistance from the local Town Chief.
Chief Superintendent Bob M.N. Mansaray, Local Unit Commander of the Kenema Division, together with the Division’s Operations Officer, Inspector Mohamed Conneh, led a team of officers to the scene. Investigations revealed that the unrest stemmed from a dispute between youths of Gombu and Hangha communities. The disagreement reportedly erupted over the sharing of funds raised from a disco dance event held in the town a day earlier.
The confrontation resulted in injuries to one individual, who was immediately taken to the Kenema Government Hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that four suspects were arrested and placed in custody to aid investigations.

To restore calm, the SLP deployed General Duty officers alongside members of the Operational Support Division (OSD) to Hangha. Authorities say this measure is intended to ensure stability and prevent further escalation.
Police assured the public of their continued commitment to maintaining law and order in Kenema District and across Sierra Leone.
