On Friday, March 20, 2026, His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio hosted Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the Presidential Lodge in Hill Station. Joining the Muslim community in marking the conclusion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the President utilized the occasion to issue a formal call for national unity and social cohesion across Sierra Leone.


In a commemorative message, President Bio extended his warmest greetings to the Muslim faithful, expressing his aspirations for a celebration characterized by peace, joy, and divine blessings.


“Eid Mubarak! Today, we stand in solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters to celebrate the completion of Ramadan," the President stated. "I wish all families a blessed Eid filled with love and happiness. May our collective prayers for the nation be accepted.”


Accompanied by the First Family and senior government officials, President Bio participated in the congregational prayers. He described the assembly as a spiritually significant moment of reflection following a month dedicated to devotion and sacrifice.


The event, attended by religious leaders and dignitaries, served as a powerful symbol of Sierra Leone’s shared values of faith and togetherness. Beyond the festivities, the gathering underscored a renewed executive commitment to fostering compassion and driving collective progress for all citizens.


The President emphasized that the mutual respect and discipline observed during Ramadan provide a vital foundation for strengthening the social fabric and advancing the country's developmental agenda.
