President Julius Maada Bio arrived in Miami on March 24, 2024, to serve as a key representative for the African continent at the 4th FII PRIORITY Summit. The high-level economic forum, held from March 25–27, convenes global leaders to address pivotal issues shaping the future of the global economy.

The FII PRIORITY Summits serve as essential platforms for actionable dialogue, focusing on urban hubs that drive global trends. With a particular emphasis on the Global South, these gatherings facilitate the development of concrete strategies to address pressing humanitarian and economic challenges.

Themed “Capital in Motion,” the summit brings together an elite cohort of policymakers, investors, and heads of state to navigate the shifting dynamics of global capital flows.

Distinguished Continental Representation

In a testament to Sierra Leone’s ascending international standing, President Bio is the sole African Head of State invited to this year’s summit. His participation ensures a vital African perspective is integrated into discussions regarding sustainable development and international investment.

The President’s agenda emphasizes the transformative potential of Africa’s demographic landscape. Highlighting the continent’s status as the possessor of the world’s youngest and fastest-growing population, President Bio will advocate for viewing this workforce as a primary driver of global economic resilience rather than a logistical challenge.

The President’s itinerary includes several high-impact engagements designed to foster strategic partnerships:

  • Keynote Address: A detailed presentation on Sierra Leone’s investment climate, focusing on the "Big Five" developmental pillars.

  • Fireside Chat: An in-depth discussion regarding the "Future of Africa," exploring how global capital can align with the continent’s infrastructure and technological requirements.

  • Bilateral Negotiations: Strategic meetings with global investors to attract direct foreign investment to Sierra Leone.

The FII PRIORITY Summit is distinguished by its "Humanity First" investment philosophy. By placing Sierra Leone at the center of this global dialogue, President Bio continues his efforts to transition the nation from an aid-dependent economy to a premier destination for long-term global capital.

“Africa is no longer a continent of 'potential' awaiting realization; it is a continent of active opportunity where capital must move with purpose. Our growing population is not a challenge to be managed, but our greatest engine of economic strength,” stated President Bio.
“To the global investors gathered here: when we speak of 'Capital in Motion,' we must direct that motion toward markets that are innovative and ready for growth.

In Sierra Leone, we are prioritizing human capital and food security as the foundation of a stable, profitable investment climate. We are prepared for partnerships that deliver mutual value for both investors and our citizens.”
