President Julius Maada Bio has summoned Parliament to resume sittings on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., a formal directive issued by the Clerk of Parliament.

According to a notice released on October 12, the President exercised his constitutional powers under Section 86(1) of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone to recall lawmakers to the Chamber of Parliament at Tower Hill.

Key agenda items for the upcoming session include legislative oversight and the review of crucial financial measures. The notice explicitly instructs the Ministry of Finance to submit all pending Development Policy Operations (DPOs) for formal parliamentary ratification.

All members of Parliament have been urged to ensure punctual attendance as the government seeks to expedite action on these key national development policies.
