President Julius Maada Bio has explicitly dismissed speculation regarding a potential constitutional amendment to extend his presidency, affirming that his focus remains on completing his current mandate in accordance with the law.

Speaking at the 2026 Presidential Town Hall in Makeni, President Bio addressed ongoing public discourse concerning governance reforms.

He stated clearly that he has no ambition to remain in office beyond his legal tenure, asserting that he has "completed his duty" to the nation.

The President also used the platform to emphasize his dedication to democratic principles, stressing that any ongoing processes regarding constitutional frameworks must remain independent and protected from personal influence or manipulation.

This town hall is part of a broader government initiative designed to foster direct dialogue with citizens on national development and governance.

President Bio reiterated that his administration will continue to operate within constitutional boundaries while delivering on national priorities.
