Hon. Osman Abdal Timbo, APC Presidential Aspirant for 2026, has called on Sierra Leone’s diaspora community to back his vision for national transformation, emphasizing that the country can no longer afford delays in delivering the change its citizens deserve.
Speaking at a fundraising dinner and dialogue event on 5 December, Timbo said his message of “Dream, Believe, Achieve” must be embraced beyond the nation’s borders.
Timbo dismissed suggestions that he should “wait his turn,” arguing that while he personally may have time, the country does not. “I may have time, but does Sierra Leone have time?” he asked, stressing that citizens struggling to meet basic needs cannot wait for incremental change.
He emphasized that his drive is not personal ambition for power, but a commitment to service. Urging Sierra Leoneans to judge him on 18 years of public service, he said he has always welcomed scrutiny, assessment, and accountability. “Give this young man a chance,” he appealed, noting that humility and transparency have guided his career.
Timbo also highlighted the “American Dream”, pointing out that many Sierra Leoneans migrate not because the U.S. is their ideal home, but because opportunities at home remain limited. He stressed the importance of building a nation where success does not require leaving Sierra Leone.
“Together, we can achieve the dream for Sierra Leone,” he concluded, calling for renewed collective effort and unity behind a shared national purpose.
