Pujehun District Multi-Stakeholder Platform Concludes Quarterly Follow-Up Exercise

The District Multi-Stakeholder Platform (DMSP) in Pujehun District has successfully concluded its quarterly follow-up exercise in Gbondapi. The initiative was designed to evaluate ongoing progress, identify critical challenges, and foster closer collaboration among key stakeholders addressing community development and local land governance.

Throughout the exercise, platform members directly engaged local community members to review active projects and assess operational hurdles impacting the platform's strategic objectives. According to DMSP Chairman Sonny S. Leigh, the primary goal was to gather direct feedback and pinpoint priority areas requiring immediate intervention and external support.

Central to the visit was obtaining first-hand updates on key land disputes in the region. The team examined the status of a resolved land conflict involving Madam Amie Kemokai and investigated a newly emerging land dispute between the Kallon and Kamara families in Gbondapi.

Chairman Leigh emphasized that consistent monitoring and structured coordination among stakeholders are vital to ensuring development initiatives remain responsive to local needs, particularly regarding land governance and women's land rights across Pujehun District.

The visiting delegation comprised key platform leadership, including the DMSP Secretary, the Chairman, a representative from the Inter-Religious Council, and the District Facilitator for the Partners Initiative for Conflict Transformation.

The conclusion of the Gbondapi exercise represents a key step forward in the platform's ongoing mission to facilitate dialogue, enhance community engagement, and drive collective action on critical land rights and local development challenges.
