She made history as the first woman to head a national commission and later as the first female Vice Presidential candidate in Sierra Leone. Her unwavering commitment to democracy and good governance shaped the nation's political landscape.

Dr. Sesay's journey, from the hallowed classrooms of Fourah Bay College to the corridors of government, was marked by grace, intellect, and an unyielding sense of purpose. She was a formidable force, shaping policies that uplifted communities and championing the empowerment of women. Her inspirational reach extended to generations, including her own daughter, the acclaimed former CNN anchor Isha Sesay.
