Mohamed Kanneh, a 51-year-old officer serving with the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), service number 18179247, has been remanded to the Male Correctional Center on Pademba Road. The order followed his initial appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1.

The defendant faces a single count of larceny, pursuant to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916. Kanneh entered a plea of not guilty after the charges were formally read and explained to the court.

The prosecution alleges that on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the Gaza Checkpoint on the Hillside Bypass Road in Freetown, the accused unlawfully took possession of an HLX motorcycle. The vehicle, registered as AZH 536 and valued at twenty-eight thousand Leones (Le 28,000), is the property of Joseph Kabba and was under the lawful custody of Mohamed Dumbuya at the time of the incident.

Prosecuting counsel C.S.P. Tommy B. Zizer Esq. confirmed the service of the statement bundle to the defendant, which the accused acknowledged. Despite the proceedings, Magistrate Jah denied the application for bail, citing the gravity of the matter.

The matter has been adjourned until March 20, 2026, pending further judicial review.
