Sallay Turay Nets Brace as Malema Queens Edge Rising Queens in Five-Goal Thriller

Sallay Turay delivered a match-winning performance, scoring twice to inspire Malema Queens FC to a dramatic 3-2 victory over Rising Queens FC in Match Week 19 of the Marampa Mines Women’s Premier League 2025/2026 season.
The exciting encounter, played on Saturday, 18th April 2026 at the Kenema City Field, saw Turay emerge as the standout performer, earning the Woman of the Match award for her decisive contributions.
Malema Queens got off to a bright start, taking the lead in the 15th minute when Sallay Turay calmly finished from an assist by Aminata Konneh. However, Rising Queens responded strongly, with Cecilia S. Bangura equalizing in the 32nd minute to level the score before halftime.
The momentum shifted after the break as Rising Queens took the lead in the 57th minute through Zainab Jalloh, who converted a well-worked assist from Fatu Fornah, putting her side ahead and intensifying the contest.
With time running out, Turay once again stepped up for Malema Queens, netting her second goal in the 82nd minute to restore parity and reignite her team’s hopes. Just three minutes later, Isatu Vandi completed the comeback in the 85th minute, finishing from Esther Tamba’s assist to seal all three points for Malema Queens.
The match also saw disciplinary actions, with Rising Queens’ Fanta Kallon booked in the 50th minute, while Malema Queens’ Esther Mboyawa received a caution late in the game.
Turay’s brace, coupled with her leadership and attacking influence, proved crucial in securing the victory for Malema Queens, capping off a thrilling encounter and earning her a well-deserved Woman of the Match accolade.
