Sampha Koroma, a 26-year-old security guard, has been remanded to the male correctional facility in Freetown following an appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1.

Mr. Koroma faces a charge of larceny, contravening Section 17(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916. The particulars of the offence indicate that on Tuesday, 28th April 2026, along Wilkinson Road in the Western Area of Freetown, the defendant allegedly stole a generator battery, iron props, and other assorted items.

The total alleged value of the stolen property, which belongs to Mohamed Koroma, is one hundred and forty-five thousand five hundred Leones (Le 145,500).

Since this was a committal proceeding, no formal plea was entered after the charges were read and explained. Prosecutor Inspector Kadie M. Taylor confirmed to the court that she had served the defendant with a copy of his witness statement.

Magistrate Jah denied bail and ordered Mr. Koroma’s remand. The matter has been adjourned until 25th May 2026.
