Sierra Leone and China Forge $5 Million Deal to Modernize Government Printing Press

Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, recently briefed the Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, His Excellency Wang Qing, on his successful visit to China. The visit culminated in the signing of a significant $5 million Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Diming Yimo Printing Company.
During a courtesy call at the Minister’s office on Monday, July 21, 2025, Minister Bah explained that the MoU aims to modernize Sierra Leone’s Government Printing Press, a crucial initiative to enhance the nation’s information infrastructure.
On his official Facebook page, Minister Bah expressed gratitude to Ambassador Wang for China's pivotal role in facilitating the visit and supporting the agreement. Ambassador Wang congratulated them on the successful mission and transformative agreement to modernize the Government Printing Press, reaffirming China’s commitment to expedite the MoU’s implementation and strengthen cooperation and investment between the two countries.
The Minister praised the enduring friendship and partnership between Sierra Leone and China, highlighting that this collaboration represents a critical step in advancing national development priorities. The Diming Yimo Printing Company is set to introduce modern technology and expertise to revitalize the Government Printing Press, which has long needed reform and investment.
This MoU marks another milestone in the expanding diplomatic and economic relations between Sierra Leone and China.
