The Sierra Leone Senior Men's Cricket Team is set for a challenging campaign in the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup Sub-regional Africa Qualifier A. The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 22nd to June 1st, 2026, in Gaborone, Botswana. Sierra Leone has been drawn into a competitive group alongside Kenya, Botswana, Rwanda, Mali, Cameroon, and Côte d'Ivoire. The top two performing teams from this sub-regional qualifier will advance to the Africa finals, slated for 2027, where they will compete for a coveted spot in the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup 2028.
In parallel, the Sierra Leone U19 Women's Cricket Team will participate in the ICC U19 Women's T20 Cricket World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier. This event is scheduled for March 6th to 15th, 2026, in Kenya (location to be confirmed). Their group stage opponents include Malawi, Kenya, Mozambique, and Cameroon.
Successful qualification for the top two teams will secure their entry into the ICC U19 Women's T20 Cricket World Cup Africa Division 1 Qualifier, which will be hosted in Tanzania from September 25th to October 4th, 2026, offering a direct pathway to the ICC Women's U19 T20 Cricket World Cup 2027.
Further representing Sierra Leone on the international stage, the U17 Boys Cricket Team is scheduled to participate in the North West Africa Cricket Council (NWACC) One Day International (ODI) Cricket Tournament. This competition will be held in Accra, Ghana, from late March to April 6th, 2026, where they will face off against West African rivals: Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, and The Gambia.
Adding to the national teams' busy schedule, the Ladies Patriots of Sierra Leone will embark on an international tour between March and June 2026. This tour includes participation in three separate T20I Series in Lagos (Nigeria), Gaborone (Botswana), and Kigali (Rwanda).
Finally, the Sierra Leone U19 Men's Cricket Team is slated to compete in the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier Africa Division 2 in Rwanda in August 2026.
