Sierra Leone Triumphs in Historic WAFU A Women's Tournament Victory

The Sierra Leone women's national team achieved a landmark victory by winning the WAFU A Women's Tournament in Mauritania, defeating the reigning champions, Senegal, with a score of 1-0.


Sierra Leone's captain, Salamatu Jariatu Kamara, took the lead with a penalty in the 68th minute and was subsequently awarded Woman of the Match for the final.



Despite facing intense pressure from the Senegalese team, Sierra Leone maintained their advantage and emerged triumphant.


The match was a closely contested encounter, marking a significant milestone as Sierra Leone wins the WAFU Women's Tournament for the first time in their history.
