The Sierra Leone Senior Women’s Cricket Team has made history by qualifying for Division 1 in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier.

Their remarkable performance in Gaborone, Botswana, saw them achieve four consecutive victories, ending a long-standing wait for Division 1 entry.

After defeating hosts Botswana and then Malawi, the team is poised to face Rwanda in the final on Saturday, where they aim to secure their second gold medal in just three months.

Emma Kamara leads the team, topping the tournament’s run-scoring chart with 134 runs, while captain Aminata Kamara boasts the highest strike rate at 156.36.

The Ladies Patriots are continuing their impressive 2025 winning streak, building on their earlier success in Gaborone where they claimed the NWACC gold.

Their consistent performance and determination have propelled them to this significant achievement, marking a new chapter for Sierra Leonean women's cricket.
