The National Executive of the Sierra Leone Commercial Motor Bike Riders Union (SLCOMBRU) has officially dissolved its Kenema District Executive, effective Friday, April 10, 2026, following the expiration of the executive’s constitutional mandate.
The dissolution was announced by Mohamed Amadu Sandi, the National Auditor of SLCOMBRU, during his official visit to the Regional Secretariat at 1 BRU Drive, HOW FOR DO PARK, in Kenema. Mr. Sandi formally declared the executive dissolved, marking the end of its constitutional period.
All outgoing district executive members in Kenema were immediately directed to hand over operational responsibilities to the outgoing Chairman, Patrick B. Mando. By constitutional mandate, Mr. Mando remains the sole functional executive member, although he is not aspiring for any district position in the upcoming elections. Regional representatives present expressed their gratitude for the dedication and service provided by the outgoing members.
Commencement of Election Process
The meeting agenda included steps for the forthcoming district chairperson election, specifically addressing eligibility requirements. A key mandatory requirement was the signing of an agreement form for all aspiring candidates.
Mohamed Kelleh Mansaray, the former vice chair and a contender for the chairperson position, consented to and successfully signed the agreement form.
Siafa Kpaika (known as Biggie) refused to sign the document, stating that consent would be conditional upon the prior publication of the official delegate list of voters.
The meeting concluded with an assurance from the Sierra Leone Police that they would provide security and maintain order throughout the electioneering process.
