SLFA Grants Full Coaching Licence Fee Waiver for Female Coaches

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced a full waiver of coaching licence fees for female coaches nationwide, a move aimed at boosting women’s participation in football leadership.

The policy, approved on Thursday, 19 February 2026, covers all coaching programmes from Licence D to Licence A. Under the directive, eligible female coaches will not pay course fees for the duration of the current SLFA Executive Committee’s mandate.

SLFA President Babadi Kamara said the initiative seeks to remove financial barriers that have historically limited women from accessing technical football education.

“The goal is to empower more women to take on coaching roles and strengthen the overall development of women’s football,” Kamara said.

The Association noted that the measure forms part of a broader strategy to improve technical leadership in football, expand grassroots development, and raise coaching standards across the country. The policy also reflects SLFA’s commitment to capacity building, equal opportunity, and good governance in sport.

Female coaches have been encouraged to register for upcoming courses through officially designated SLFA channels. Officials said the move represents a significant step toward increasing female representation in football coaching and leadership in Sierra Leone.
