SLFA President Backs Orange Data Center as a Boost to National Digital Transformation

The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has highlighted the critical role of digital innovation in national development during the official opening of the Orange Sierra Leone Data Center in Bo City.

Describing the initiative, Orange Sierra Leone’s Chief Technical Officer, Sylvanus Redwood-Sawyer, explained that the facility serves as a disaster recovery data center and represents the company’s second major digital installation in the country, following its first data center in Freetown.
Addressing the audience, SLFA President Babadi Kamara emphasized the alignment of sports governance with national technological advancement. “Football development must evolve with technology,” he said. “The SLFA is committed to digitising player and official data in line with global best practices. Orange’s investment in digital resilience is a major boost to national transformation efforts, and we are proud to align with such innovation.”
Under Kamara’s leadership, the SLFA has implemented several digital solutions, including FIFA Connect, the Competition Management System (CMS), and the Domestic Transfer Matching System (DTMS), ensuring robust data management and operational efficiency within the country’s football administration.
