The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Mr. Babadi Kamara, on Monday paid a visit to the injured players of Koya Queens FC at the 34 Military Hospital in Freetown, following a serious road accident over the weekend.
The players sustained severe injuries while traveling to Kenema for their league fixture against Kahunla Rangers on Saturday. During his visit, President Kamara met with both the players and medical staff, offering words of encouragement and solidarity on behalf of the SLFA.
Consultant Physician Dr. Joseph Edwin Kanu confirmed that the players are responding positively to treatment and are in stable condition. He praised the medical team for their swift and professional response, adding that the players are expected to be discharged pending a scheduled X-ray procedure on Tuesday.

Speaking to the players, President Kamara lauded their courage and dedication:
“We cannot wait to see you back on the pitch, representing your club and the country. Your resilience is inspiring, and the SLFA stands firmly with you during your recovery.”
He emphasized that the Association is committed to safeguarding the welfare of footballers, particularly women in the game, and assured Koya Queens FC of continued support throughout the rehabilitation process.
The visit highlights the SLFA’s dedication to player welfare and its efforts to foster a supportive environment for women’s football development in Sierra Leone.
