SLP Arrests Two and Recovers Suspected Kush in Aberdeen Raid

In an intelligence-led operation on Sunday, 23 August 2026, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) arrested two individuals and seized significant quantities of suspected Kush in Aberdeen, Freetown.

Guided by Local Unit Commander CSP Mrs. Zainab M’balu Cline Thomas, officers from the Aberdeen Police Division targeted a makeshift structure behind Kabba Garage, which was allegedly serving as a processing and distribution hub for the narcotic.

During the raid, police apprehended Mohamed Sheku Kamara and his fiancée, Isata Kamara, both residents of the area.

Law enforcement recovered 645 pink wraps, 203 blue wraps, and 10 sachets of suspected Kush from the premises.

Additionally, officers confiscated drug processing equipment—including a weighing scale, a blender, two pairs of scissors, and rolling papers—alongside a quantity of Gold Seal cigarettes.

Following the operation, the Local Unit Commander ordered the transfer of both suspects, the confiscated substances, and the seized items to the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) for further investigation.

This raid continues efforts to disrupt illicit drug processing and distribution across the country.

Emphasizing the importance of community support, the SLP encouraged members of the public to continue reporting timely and credible information to assist law enforcement in dismantling drug networks and tackling organized crime.
