The Sierra Leone Police have arrested Mohamed Kamara and Osman Sako, both residents of K-Step, Calaba Town, on suspicion of unlawful possession of government-provided healthcare materials. The seized items, intended for free public distribution, include test kits for HIV, Hepatitis C (HCV), and malaria, along with other essential medical supplies.
The arrests were executed on Monday, 17 November 2025, during an operation conducted by the Harbour Police Division's Operations Team, overseen by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Francis Tommy, at Kabala Park, Peace Market, Ferry Junction.
Authorities confirm that the supplies are designated for vital public healthcare programs, offering essential medical services to communities at no charge. Both suspects are currently undergoing questioning by investigators at the Criminal Investigations Department of the Harbour Police Division. The ongoing inquiry seeks to determine the source of the materials and the suspects' intended use.
The Police have stated that the investigation remains active and that further updates will be issued as additional information becomes available.
