Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats SL) has launched a comprehensive one-day intensive training program for Regional Publicity Officers (RPOs), core communication staff, and strategic partners.

The initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MoICE) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), marks a critical step in the nation’s journey toward the December 2026 Population and Housing Census.

The workshop serves as a foundational component of preparations for the upcoming 2026 Mock Census. As a pivotal milestone, the mock exercise is designed to test systems and protocols to ensure the integrity and success of the full-scale national census scheduled for late next year.

The primary objective of the session is to bolster the technical capacity of public relations personnel. By strengthening their ability to articulate key census objectives, Stats SL aims to enhance public understanding, deepen stakeholder engagement, and ensure that information dissemination remains accurate and coordinated across all media platforms.

Throughout the training, participants are being equipped with modern communication tools and strategic frameworks.

These resources are intended to streamline messaging and improve public sensitization efforts, ensuring that every citizen is well-informed and prepared for the Mock Census exercise.
