Suspect Arrested with Alleged Cannabis at Wanjama Checkpoint

Police officers conducting early morning duties have apprehended an individual, Osman Koroma, a resident of Tiama, following the discovery of a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa during a routine search at the Wanjama Checkpoint.
The arrest occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. while the suspect was traveling on a motorcycle. Police sources indicate that Mr. Koroma was stopped and searched as part of the standard checkpoint procedure.
The motorcycle operator, identified as Ibrahim Sama of No. 36 Musa Street, Bo City, was present at the time of the apprehension. The vehicle involved is registered under the number ASC-773.
While the recovered substance is provisionally identified as cannabis sativa, it will be subjected to further forensic testing to confirm its nature. Mr. Koroma has been taken into police custody to facilitate the ongoing investigation, and the motorcycle rider is also cooperating with police inquiries.
Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is active, and charges are expected to be filed in court upon its conclusion.
The police command has reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying checkpoint operations as a crucial strategy in the effort to combat drug-related offenses and uphold public safety.
