Suspicious Passenger from Freetown Caught with Nine Bags of Suspected Kush at Bo Checkpoint

Police in Bo have arrested a man from Freetown for allegedly transporting substances believed to be kush, as part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and abuse across Sierra Leone.

The suspect, identified as Yusifu Jalloh of First Pump Line, Adonkia, Goderich in Freetown, was stopped at the Fallah Checkpoint in Bo. During a routine search, officers reportedly discovered nine black plastic bags containing the suspected narcotic substance carefully packed and concealed among his belongings.

According to police sources, the arrest followed after officers at the checkpoint noticed the suspect’s suspicious behavior and decided to conduct a thorough inspection. The items were immediately seized and recorded as exhibits.

Jalloh was taken into custody for further questioning. Both the suspect and the seized substances are being held at the Bo Police Station as investigations continue to trace the source and intended destination of the suspected kush.

The arrest forms part of a broader police operation aimed at reducing the circulation of kush and other illegal drugs across the country. Police say they remain vigilant and committed to identifying and stopping anyone involved in the transportation or sale of such substances.
