“They Can’t Beat Me”: Osman Timbo Confident of APC Flagbearer Victory

All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant Hon. Osman Timbo has expressed confidence in winning the party’s forthcoming flagbearer election, describing himself as the “dark horse” in the race.

In a statement shared on social media, Timbo referred to an interview he granted about two weeks ago on Truth Media’s Morning Devotion Show with Amadu Lamrana Bah, where he predicted victory in the APC flagbearer contest despite doubts from some members of the public.

“I don’t say anything I don’t mean. I am not a joker and they do not know how to beat me,” Timbo stated.

Responding to questions about his campaign visibility, Timbo said his strategy has focused on engaging party delegates rather than seeking widespread public attention.

“This is delegates elections, not a popularity contest. So, sorry that you haven’t seen me yet. When it is time to reach you I definitely will,” he said.

Timbo claimed that he has already engaged delegates across the country and that his campaign has made significant progress despite public perceptions.

“There is not a single provincial district; from Kailahun to Waterloo, that I haven’t been to, and now I will start showing the doubting Thomases,” he said.

He further stated that his campaign is currently in the second of five planned phases, with engagements across districts expected to be highlighted every three days, beginning with Kailahun District.

The aspirant also claimed to have established strong connections in more than 83 per cent of constituencies where delegate elections have been conducted, saying these relationships have strengthened his confidence in winning the APC flagbearer position.

“I have very strong ‘connects’ in over 83% of all the constituencies conducted,” he said.

Reaffirming his confidence, Timbo encouraged supporters and observers to follow the contest closely.

“Beware of the Dark Horse. We will shock the disbelievers,” he declared.

Timbo is among several aspirants seeking to lead the APC into Sierra Leone’s next presidential election, with the party expected to hold its flagbearer election as preparations continue ahead of the 2028 polls.
