TSC Dismisses Teacher Michael Jusu Kapu for Gross Misconduct in Kenema

The Sierra Leone Teaching Service Commission (TSC) has formally dismissed Michael Jusu Kapu, a teacher formerly employed at Methodist Secondary School in Kenema, effective 12th November 2025. The grounds for dismissal are Neglect of Duty, Abandonment of Post, and obtaining financial benefit under False Pretenses.

This decisive action follows an investigation and subsequent referral from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The investigation revealed that Mr. Kapu had fraudulently continued to receive salary payments from the government payroll despite having ceased his teaching responsibilities, constituting a clear case of fraudulent enrichment and misuse of public funds.

In a communication dated 11th November 2025, the TSC officially informed the ACC of Mr. Kapu's immediate dismissal, confirming that he is no longer in the employment of the Commission.

Many commend the ACC for its rigorous diligence and effective partnership with public institutions to uphold accountability and integrity in service delivery, expressing that this action not only strengthens institutional systems but also sends a resolute message against the exploitation of government resources intended for national development.

They urge all young professionals in Sierra Leone to commit to the highest standards of character, discipline, and professional responsibility, given that the nation's future is intrinsically linked to the ethical values championed today.

Many are also applauding the Teaching Service Commission for taking this necessary and decisive administrative action, remarking that maintaining professionalism and ethical standards within the education sector is fundamental to the nation-building process.
