A Freetown magistrate has remanded two employees of the Amnet Filling Station in Makeni following testimony regarding the alleged embezzlement of Nle 473,800.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, representing the Criminal Investigation Department's Economic Financial and Fraud Unit, presented the findings during court proceedings.
The case follows a January 23, 2026, complaint filed by Isatu Bah against Noah Aleem Bun Kamara, 26, assistant manager, and Joe Menfallah, 47, station manager.
The prosecution alleges that between May 2025 and February 2026, the defendants conspired with others to defraud the Bombali District station. Evidence submitted includes bank statements, shift records, and the defendants' own cautionary statements.
Following their arrest in Makeni and transfer to the capital, Magistrate John Manso Fornah denied bail, citing the severity of the allegations.
The accused remain in custody at the Male Correctional Facility until the hearing resumes on June 26, 2026.
