In a significant boost to the Freetown City Council’s (FCC) ongoing waste management initiative, WAICA Re has officially donated 40 large-capacity dustbins to support the #DortiMusGo campaign. The donation, consisting of 300-litre bins, was formally received by Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr today.

The Mayor expressed her gratitude for the contribution, describing it as a timely and valuable intervention in the city's efforts to improve sanitation.

"I was delighted to receive 40 three-hundred-litre dustbins from WAICA Re today as part of their support for FCC’s ongoing waste management campaign," Mayor Aki-Sawyerr stated.

According to the distribution plan outlined by the Council, the new bins will be strategically allocated to 20 municipal schools across the city. Each institution will receive two bins to foster a cleaner and healthier learning environment for students.

To maintain the efficacy of this project, the FCC has committed to facilitating regular waste collections to ensure proper disposal from these sites.

The donation comes as part of a broader push to involve corporate partners and residents alike in the city's hygiene. Closing her remarks, the Mayor issued a call to action for the general public, encouraging all Freetown residents to register with FCC-approved waste service providers to ensure a collective effort in keeping the capital clean.
